| BJP wins mayoral polls in SDMC, EDMC |
|
The MCD has been BJP-controlled for the past nearly 10 years. All three outgoing mayors are from BJP, including Subhash Arya of SDMC, who is the one of the veteran leaders of the party. Continuing its stronghold on the Municipal Corporations of Delhi, the BJP won the positions of mayor and deputy mayor in the South and East municipalities on Wednesday, while it is set to win in the North.
