| IHC rejects petition seeking ban on MQM |
|
Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected a petition seeking ban on Altaf Hussain’s party Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition filed by Barrister Masroor Shah on behalf of a citizen namely Mazhar Iqbal. The plaintiff requested the court that a ban should be imposed on the MQM by declaring it a party run by foreign funding. He alleged that MQM is a threat to the national security.
